Bounded cross-provider research tool loop
What it does
Run a bounded model search-tool loop, feed source summaries back into synthesis and return citations plus step evidence. One model adapter uses compatible tool-call messages and falls back when tools are unsupported.
Core pattern
Bounded search loop + cited synthesis

- Output
- See description and operation-specific result.
Key parameters
| Name | Type | Default | Values |
|---|---|---|---|
| provider | string | — | — |
| model | string | — | — |
| temperature | number | 0 | 0–2 |
| messages | array | — | — |
| max_tool_steps | integer | 3 | 1–50 |
Maturity and limits
Static inspection only; no tests or provider calls executed.
Default search endpoint/model and tool names are embedded in source; expose them as configuration. Search and synthesis reuse credentials in the existing adapter; introduce independently scoped credential references. Retrieved text is untrusted.
1 sentence citing source paths or vendor names omitted for publication.
